After taking 2008 off, Hallgren Brothers Racing is back.  We needed to take some time and re-focus.  The focus has worked with a new front suspension design and some other minor changes to the truck, Ken went into Friday's practice at Crandon with a new attitude.  The changes we made to the truck worked awesome.  Right out the gate we knew that we were faster.

On Saturday, Ken and the #215 Fast Funnel truck drew the pole position for the famous landrush start.  Once the green flag dropped, Ken came out of the infamous turn 1 in fourth place where he remained the rest of the race.  Each lap was faster than the last.

Overnight, we checked the truck over and contemplated some changes.  After talking it over, Ken just needed some more seat time with the current set-up.  "There's more speed in the truck, I just need to get it out." said Ken.  Luckily, we didn't make any changes because Sunday morning practice was canceled.  Lining up in the sixth starting spot due to the points inversion, Ken came out the gate once again in fourth place.  Very quickly Ken made his way up to third place and was gaining on second place Jerry Edgerton.  Ken used the Goodwin Competition power to stay right on Jerry's bumper looking inside and outside each and every corner.  Jerry made his truck very wide and forced Ken to hold back.  On lap five, Jerry went wide and Ken took the opportunity.  Just as Ken had the inside line on Jerry, he turned down making contact with Ken and rolling his truck.  Luckily, he was OK.  Ken was able to continue, but had a broken tie rod from the collision.  Ken was also black flagged for rough driving.  The truck made it back to the pits but we were credited with fourth place and Jerry with third in a carnage filled race.

We are really looking forward to the next race in Bark River.  The Fast Funnel truck is fast and ready to contend for wins and podium finishes all year long.
